An entire page to brag about my copywriter and friend, Jett, aka The WordPunk. Her interview of me is from July of 2017, after multiple projects together. I still stand by every word I said. Book her immediately, or sooner. Reach her at [email protected]. Tell her I sent you.

Jett: Why did you decide to do business with me?
Me: I wanted to work with you because I’ve seen you seemingly effortlessly adopt the voice of your clients and tailor copy around that. Your smooth approach belies the fact that you can craft some genuinely cutting copy. It’s a lovely hand-crafted shiv, wrapped in Irish butter.
Jett: What are my strengths?
Me: You put a lot of thought and effort into understanding the Dear Reader for anything you write. You also search for the true human goals of a piece, if none are provided. I find this refreshing as I see a lot of buzzword-stuffing SEO-focused copywriters who forget that humans make decisions based on emotions.
Jett: What have I done that made the biggest difference for you?
Me: I know can be an intimidating client for some people, as I’m a decent writer and make it my business to know a very lot about business, and especially my audience. That never stops you from eloquently and gently affirming your writing choices (when questioned) and backing them up with why and how.
Sometimes a bitch just needs some pushback, you know?
Jett: Did you have any concerns before doing business with me?
Me: I was concerned that my goals would sound cheesy or too lofty for a website. Other writers are so caught up in “convert convert convert” that they forget how people are converted: by seeing something of themselves in your writing. By hearing their story on your site.
Jett: How were those concerns put at ease for you?
Me: Like I mentioned before, you really grok what I’m going for and didn’t try to tell me that boring ass informative pages are the way to go.
Jett: What would you tell someone considering hiring me?
Me: “I trust Jett with nearly any type of copy I can imagine ever needing. She will get to the heart of what your material needs both stylistically and technically; she is a mix of skilled writing with an empathetic eye that makes her the perfect person to capture your audience in a way that will keep them there, for a good long time.”
